The Communcations and Surveillance System on Wheels (CSOW)

  • 38 feet long, 8 feet wide, 12.5 feet high; weighs approximately 12,000 pounds
  • Erected in less than a half hour after arrival on site, with a 2-person crew.  
  • Lifts up to 520 pounds to varying heights up to 106 feet above ground; stabilized with a guy-wire kit for high winds
  • Designed for operations independent of ambient temperatures
  • Fully functional at 60 knots in flight, withstands 85 knots moored
  • Aircraft C-17 transportable; no hazardous components
  • Towed by a one ton truck or HMWWV, no Commercial Driver required
  • Contains a 15 KW generator with 65 gallon external diesel fuel tank
  • Remain on station indefinitely, with simple refueling of generator
  • Grounded for lightning and shock safety.  Six fiber optic cables for data transmission from payload bay
  • Redline microwave or hard-wired options for connectivity to Operations Centers

 

Tactical Shelter

  • Self-contained metal shelter on trailer houses up to four people with Environmental Control Unit to protect electronics
  • Can include Ku SATCOM connectivity with components in the shelter
  • Provides VoIP, RoIP, Video, data connectivity for Commercial or SIPR/NIPR networks
  • Server(s) capable of varied Common Operating Pictures (COPs)

 

Tether

  • Power system provides highly conditioned 3 phase, 120VAC, through the tether, supplying up to 3 KW electrical supply to payload bay
