SkySentry Tactically Expedient Aerostat (TEA)

 This smaller aerostat, allows for rapid deployment and setup, along with quick repositioning as tactical and emergency operations require. 

 

Tactically Expedient Aerostat (TEA):

  • 32 feet length - 12 feet diameter - inflated with 2500 cubic feet of helium
  • Design life of 5 years 
  • Deploys in less than one hour after arrival on site – 2 person crew  
  • Lifts 50 pounds to 500 feet above ground (station sitting 0’ – 2500’ MSL)
  • Designed for operation in temperatures from -100 to + 300 C
  • Fully functional at 60 knots in flight, withstands 85 knots moored
  • Stays on station for 2 weeks in flight – day and night.
  • Designed for partial deflation, movement and rapid re-inflation at new deployment site – conserves helium and reduces deployment time

 

Mooring Station:

  • 28 feet long - 8 feet wide - 8.5 feet high - 4,000 pounds
  • Nose cone mast for stable retrieval in high winds
  • Aircraft C-130 or C-17 transportable
  • Ground transport by one ton truck or HMWWV – no Commercial Driver
  • 360 degree rotation allows aerostat to vane into wind aerodynamically
  • Contains main winch, mooring tie-downs, versatile electrical sources

 

Payload Bay and Power System Included

  • Easy access payload bay - sealed against weather and dust with light-weight composite shields
    • Aluminum body with quick-mount brackets for quick payload exchange
    • Standard Dimensions:  3 feet long x 2.5 feet high x 2.2 feet wide
  • Power system provides highly conditioned, steady 120VAC, single-phase, up to 3 KW electrical supply to payload bay

Kevlar Tether and Fiber Optic Cabling System

  • Extends to 500 feet above ground with 6,000 lbs breaking strength and 1,500 lbs working load
  • Grounded for lightning and shock safety.  Six fiber optic cables for data transmission from payload bay
