Modeling Tools
SkySentry has developed highly sophisticated modeling tools. These tools characterize performance of high altitude vehicles and payloads for communications and surveillance.
Interactivity
In addition, it is important to realize these HALE vehicles do not operate in isolation but rather interact with other layers, populated by other vehicles and nodes spanning the range from ground stations to satellites in space. Showing how these layers will interact is crucial to optimizing users' return on investment.
Weather Implications
SkySentry also has unique capabilities to demonstrate the effects of weather on vehicle and payload performance.
For example, SkySentry will answer questions such as:
- How long can a vehicle remain over the target before drifting out of the area?
- What coverage can be expected of the communications systems?
- What resolution can be expected from particular surveillance systems?
- When will the vehicle or payload have access to ground stations, satellites, and people with data terminals?
- What specific design capabilities are required for vehicles to operate in various areas of interest?
- How do we optimize layered architectures consisting of various air-breathing and space assets to cover areas of interest?
- How much persistence can be expected from a vehicle considering time and distance to recovery bases?
Address Complex Issues
In addition to the aforementioned questions, SkySentry can also address other complex issues upon request.
SkySentry developed modeling and simulation tools which enable it to characterize:
- Three and six degree performance of vehicles, both heavier- and lighter-than-air
- Weather effects on vehicles and payloads, to include winds, cloud cover, sandstorms and more worldwide
- Vehicle basing and employment concepts
- Satellite and space sensor performance
- Space debris behavior and ramifications
In addition to HALE modeling, SkySentry has extensive experience with ballistic and cruise missile defense sensor and battle management systems. We've recently federated modeling tools that allow sensor feeds into communications models to gain insights on end-to-end communications architecture performance. USSTRATCOM and the Missile Defense Agency have been recent customers for these products.
